Weight loss tips & workout tips?

Hi, I have struggled with my weight all my life. I believe I am becoming obese, not just overweight. I am a girl, weigh 140 pounds, am around 5'1 or 5'2, and am 13 almost 14 years old.
Long story short, I need to lose weight.
I will probably start this this Saturday, February 20th. This will last at least 5 months, maybe even more.
Please give me some tips for the entire plan, and also some workout routines I should focus on.
