Always stretch before you do any form of exercise, and set realistic goals. You won’t skip walking as much as you would running, it’s easier on your body and joints, and you can do it every day with less risk of injury. Being more consistent, you can actually burn more calories than you would running. As you build stamina, speed up your walking to burn more calories faster. If you want to jog, all the better if you’re up to it, and your body’s conditioned for it.
